Coleraine vs Ards.
Saturday December 8th @ 3.00 p.m.
Colin Nixon takes his team to Coleraine on Saturday and is sure to remember his first game as manager of the Red and Blues almost two years ago, when the game finished in a 1-1 draw on 17/12/16. The Ards goal that day was scored by David McAllister in the first half and Coleraine got their equaliser in the second half through Brad Lyons, now with Blackburn Rovers. Johnny Taylor, who will miss Saturday's game through injury, was sent off in injury time.
Another player who will miss out on Saturday is Kym Nelson, who was man of the match last week against Warrenpoint, but is suspended for one game having accumulated five yellow cards. The list of absentees is completed by Johnny Frazer who is also out injured. On the plus side Mark Kelly should be available for selection and it is hoped David Elebert will be fit to return after missing the last two games.
Although not hitting the heights of last season, when they only lost once in the League, Coleraine will be difficult opponents with Darren McCauley in good form with seven goals so far. Currently sitting in sixth place, Coleraine will want to make up for their most recent results which saw them lose to Warrenpoint and Newry. Indeed they will be keen to prove to their fans that those results were a blip, particularly as their defence of the Irish Cup begins on the first Saturday of January.
Ards will find it hard, as always at Coleraine, but need to start gathering points or risk being cut adrift at the foot of the table.
For fans intending to travel to the game, the PASC bus will leave the Social Club/Gibson's Lane area at 1.00 p.m.
