Ards vs Warrenpoint Town.
Bangor Fuels Arena.
Saturday 1st December @ 3.00 p.m.
Another crucial game for Ards who are sitting at the foot of the table and are playing a team that has found form after losing their first six league games. Indeed since that awful start to the season, Warrenpoint have only lost two of their last eleven league games and having been four points behind Ards are now seven points ahead of them.
Manager Stephen McDonnell, at 26 probably the youngest in the business, has made a couple of good signings in goalkeeper Aaron McCarey who had a good game in the reverse fixture and Robbie Norton, on loan from Glenavon, while Alan O'Sullivan is playing well. Their recent results against the likes of Linfield, Glentoran, Glenavon and Coleraine have been notable.
Ards are once again plagued by injuries with Johnny Taylor looking likely to miss several games after going off early in the defeat at Glenavon last Saturday. It is hoped that David Elebert who was unable to take part last week will be fit to resume. Striker Mark Kelly will also be absent as he attends a family wedding, this should give Michael McLellan, who was a goal scoring sub last week, the opportunity for a place in the starting line up.
An ideal scenario for Ards fans would be a win for Ballymena against Newry on Friday night, followed by three points on Saturday. Even a draw would lift them above Newry on goal difference, but every Ards fans will want a win!
